Differential Learning?!

I was talking with a friend of mine, whose 7-year-old daughter is in a program for gifted children. However, it's not called a gifted program but a "differential learning" program. Apparently this is the new term, for we wouldn't want to highlight intelligent or very motivated students from everyone else. Liberalism run amok again...

  • Thank you for being honest.I teach in a high school and it no wonder that education in America has sunk so low. The idea is not to let anyone "feel" bad about being unmotivated of low functioning so everyone has to lower the bar. It is pathetic. Thank you for speaking up. The schools are so liberal it is sickening. Anyone who may be motivated to start a business in high school is warned to slow down, however the founder of Kinko's started his business that we all know is a multi-million dollar idea in high school. Achievement has become a bad word. Things need to change in the schools if we are to any hopes surviving as a world leader.
